Riders Republic arrives on Switch 2 on December 9 with Offline Play mode

Ubisoft announced on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, that Riders Republic will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9. The launch coincides with the fifth anniversary of the open-world extreme sports game and the arrival of a new Offline Play mode for all current platforms.

What happened?

Developed by Ubisoft Annecy, Riders Republic lets players practice sports such as snowboarding, biking, hang gliding and more in an open world inspired by US national parks. The Switch 2 version was confirmed alongside the Offline Play mode, also called Nomad.

According to Ubisoft, the mode allows exploring the open world, progressing through careers, unlocking landmarks, finding beauty spots and balloons, and customizing the character even without an internet connection. Upon reconnecting, offline progress is automatically integrated into the online save. Content such as the shop, season progression, sponsors, multiplayer modes and user-created events still require internet.

Why it matters

The feature is especially useful for portable platforms like Switch 2 and Steam Deck, where connectivity can be intermittent. The game is already certified for Steam Deck. The news arrives as the title celebrates five years and more than 17 million lifetime players.

In addition to the Switch 2 version and Offline Play, Ubisoft announced a free weekend from October 22 to 26 and other anniversary content.
