Samsung and Google's Android XR glasses open for preorder on November 12

The first smart glasses running Android XR, built by Samsung and Google, finally have a market date: preorders open on November 12, 2026. The confirmation came from Warby Parker, the partner behind the frames, in its third-quarter results, released on November 5.

"One week from today, on November 12, we'll begin accepting pre-orders for our first Intelligent Eyewear collection and look forward to delivering customer orders during the holiday season," said Dave Gilboa, Warby Parker's co-founder and co-CEO, on the earnings call.

What the glasses offer

The glasses run an audio-first version of Android XR, with no display in the lenses: they pack a camera, microphones and speakers, with direct access to Gemini, Google's AI assistant. Samsung makes the hardware, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 — the same chip as the Ray-Ban Meta glasses — while Warby Parker and Gentle Monster design the frames.

Price, demos and deliveries

Warby Parker launches three styles — Alden (rounded), Reid (square) and Wren — in black, brown and green. In-store demos start next week at 65 US stores, expanding to more than 360 locations the following week, with booking already open on the company's website. The full collection, including pricing, will be unveiled on November 12 itself.

First deliveries are expected in mid-December. There is still no confirmation on when Gentle Monster's frames will open for preorder, or which countries beyond the United States will be served.

The glasses are Android XR's second step: the platform debuted in 2025 on the Samsung Galaxy XR headset. Unlike the headset, built for mixed reality, the Intelligent Eyewear targets everyday use: live translation, audio navigation, notification summaries and AI-assisted photos, without taking your phone out of your pocket.
