At GTC Berlin, NVIDIA announced a significant expansion of the Isaac platform for general-purpose robotics. The highlight is the Agile ONE SN, a reference humanoid developed by Agile Robots, built on NVIDIA Isaac GR00T and powered by Jetson Thor.
What was announced?
The Agile ONE SN integrates hardware and software to cut setup time from weeks to days. The robot stands 1.40 meters tall, weighs 40 kg, has 31 degrees of freedom in the body and Wuji hands with 20 degrees of freedom each, plus tactile sensors. Jetson Thor delivers 2,070 FP4 teraflops and 128 GB of unified memory. Availability is scheduled for early 2027.
In parallel, NVIDIA released Isaac Lab 3.0, an open-source framework for training robot policies with support for multiple physics backends (including Newton and PhysX), and Isaac OS, an open-source runtime based on Holoscan for real-time execution from simulation to physical robot.
Why it matters
Humanoid development faces bottlenecks in integrating simulation, training and deployment. Reference platforms like the Agile ONE SN and open tools like Isaac Lab 3.0 allow researchers and European companies (ABB, KUKA, NEURA, Universal Robots and others) to advance faster in Physical AI. Jensen Huang noted that the "ChatGPT moment for robotics" is approaching.
