Hogwarts Legacy DLSS 5 officially arrives on November 5, 2026. NVIDIA confirmed 3D-Guided Neural Rendering support for the open-world RPG from Avalanche Software, published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label.
What DLSS 5 changes in the game
Unlike Super Resolution and Frame Generation, DLSS 5 Neural Rendering uses the engine-rendered frame as a foundation and adds more realistic lighting and materials. Avalanche tuned the SDK controls to preserve the game’s original artistic intent, especially character faces, after earlier demos that aged up Hogwarts students drew criticism.
The current DLSS 5 model is roughly twice as fast as the September version and uses less VRAM (about 20% reduction at 4K). In NVIDIA benchmarks, an RTX 5090 can run Hogwarts Legacy at 4K with ray tracing, DLSS 5, 6X Multi Frame Generation and Reflex at up to 300 FPS. At 1440p the number rises to up to 370 FPS.
Availability and exclusivity
The feature will be available for GeForce RTX 50 Series, GeForce NOW and RTX Spark notebooks. There is no announced support for previous series at the moment. War Thunder is expected to receive support in mid-November, while Where Winds Meet arrives later in the month (November 23 in North America and November 24 globally).
Hogwarts Legacy has sold more than 40 million copies since 2023. The arrival of DLSS 5 marks an important expansion of NVIDIA’s neural rendering technology into established AAA games, allowing RTX 50 Series owners to revisit the wizarding world with richer visuals.
