DLSS Radeon AMD: experimental mod brings Ray Reconstruction and DLSS 5 to AMD GPUs

The experimental DLSS Radeon AMD project, known as DLSS-NR-on-AMD, developed by creator danielblnc, is allowing owners of AMD Radeon graphics cards to run advanced NVIDIA features, including DLSS Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution, Frame Generation (up to Multi Frame Generation 4X) and DLSS 5 Neural Rendering.

What is the DLSS Radeon AMD project?

The GitHub repository DLSS-NR-on-AMD, released in Alpha version 0.8.0 on October 17, 2026, aims to port NVIDIA's upscaling and neural rendering stack to RDNA 3 (RX 7000 series) and RDNA 4 (RX 9000 series) architectures. Support for RDNA 2 is currently in testing.

The mod uses an application called NeuralHub to import official NVIDIA DLLs (such as nvngx_dlssnr.dll) and works in DirectX 12 games that support FSR, DLSS or XeSS. Requirements include Windows 11 and updated Adrenalin drivers. Installation is experimental and involves GPU spoofing.

Test results with DLSS Radeon AMD

Community members demonstrated the Radeon RX 9070 XT running Ray Reconstruction in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p, with maximum graphics settings and Path Tracing enabled, maintaining around 60 FPS. The technology replaces traditional denoisers with a neural network, which significantly improves clarity in reflections, shadows and complex lighting.

According to reports, the performance drop compared to previous versions has been minimized. The project is completely unofficial, experimental and not endorsed by either NVIDIA or AMD. It may present instabilities, crashes or artifacts in some titles. For more details and download, check the official GitHub of developer danielblnc.

This initiative highlights the advancement of the modding community in circumventing proprietary hardware limitations, although users should proceed with caution.
