The Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 is out today bringing dual-wielding for pistols and revolvers, the Clampdown side quest inspired by Edgerunners 2, and important customization, mod and performance improvements in Night City.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, also known as the Edgerunners 2 Update, launched on October 22, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 version coming soon.
What happened?
CD Projekt Red and Virtuos delivered the free Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5. The highlight is the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree enabling dual-wielding of Power pistols and revolvers, with auxiliary perks and exclusive Photo Mode poses.
The Clampdown side quest is a prequel to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 (Netflix). Unlock after The Heist and two Wakako gigs. Reward is a five-piece King gear set. There's also Welcome to Paradise for lore and the HKGN 102.0 FM radio with tracks from both anime seasons.
- Dual-wielding of Power pistols and revolvers in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5
- Clampdown quest linked to Edgerunners 2
- Cyberware customization at Glamdocs
- Cross-platform mod support
- DLSS 4.5 and FOV slider
Why does this matter?
The Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 is one of the biggest gameplay additions since update 2.0. It keeps the game relevant years after launch and capitalizes on the anime's success. Dual-wielding creates balanced gunslinger builds restricted to handguns.
What changes in practice?
In the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, players mix weapons (including Iconics) with penalties offset by perks. The Clampdown quest brings narrative content with anime voices. Mods via mod.io arrive on consoles. No support for PS4 and Xbox One. Sources: CD Projekt Red and Xbox Wire.
