What happened?
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Switch 2 receives its first impressions from outlets such as IGN and Nintendo Life. The title, developed by Infinity Ward and ported to Nintendo's console, launches officially on October 23, 2026, and demonstrates consistent performance. Multiplayer targets 60 frames per second, while the campaign runs at 30 fps, even with graphical compromises compared to the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X versions.
Why is this important?
After more than a decade without a mainline Call of Duty game on Nintendo platforms — the last being Ghosts on the Wii U in 2013 — the return with Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2 marks a significant step forward. The hardware's ability to deliver a playable experience in a modern AAA title could encourage more large-scale ports to the hybrid console.
What changes in practice?
Players who own the Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to enjoy the bombastic campaign and multiplayer with acceptable fluidity in both handheld and docked modes. Those who pre-ordered already have early access to the campaign since October 16. The impressions highlight that, despite reduced resolution and textures, gameplay remains responsive without severe frame rate drops.
