The co-op game Big Walk on Xbox will not be released. Australian studio House House has announced the decision not to bring the title to Microsoft's console. The move follows the call from the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement to boycott Microsoft, including its games division and the Xbox.
What the studio said
In a statement published on the game's official site, House House explained: “We have made the decision not to release Big Walk on Xbox, in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS movement’s call to boycott Microsoft, and their designation of Microsoft Games (and Xbox) as a priority boycott target.”
The studio acknowledges that the absence on Xbox runs counter to the original intention for the game to be played by groups of friends, and admits some players will miss out. “We would love for people to be able to play the game on Xbox, but not until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets,” the statement says.
Context
Big Walk launched in August 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The title, from the same studio as Untitled Goose Game, is a co-op walking puzzle game that received strong critical reception. Since the initial announcement, fans had asked about a version of Big Walk on Xbox.
The BDS movement designated Microsoft as a priority target due to the company’s contracts with the Israeli government and armed forces. Other independent developers have also expressed support for similar boycotts in recent months.
