Analogue Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+: new FPGA consoles with wireless and USB-C for $219.99

What happened?

Analogue Super Nt+ Mega Sg+ were announced as updated versions of its FPGA consoles that play original Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive cartridges. New features include native Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wireless controller support, USB-C power, a USB-A port, and hot-swappable cartridges. Each model costs $219.99, with pre-orders starting October 19 at 8am PDT and shipping planned for December 2026.

Why it matters

Analogue's FPGA consoles are a benchmark for game preservation because they recreate the original hardware at the transistor level rather than relying on software emulation. This delivers near-perfect compatibility and zero lag. The Plus versions fix long-standing pain points such as the need for wireless dongles and proprietary power supplies, modernizing the experience without compromising fidelity.

What changes in practice

Players can use 8BitDo or similar controllers without adapters, power the system on from the controller, and hot-swap cartridges. Output remains up to 1080p over HDMI with scanline and aspect-ratio options. Super Nt+ supports over 2,200 SNES/Super Famicom titles; Mega Sg+ covers Genesis, Mega Drive and, with the included adapter, Master System. There is no openFPGA or ROM file support—only physical cartridges.
